Northland Residential Corporation Wins Award for Energy Efficiency

Posted on October 25, 2009 by Northland Residential

Energy Star logoNorthland Residential Corporation, a privately held real estate development firm located in  Burlington, Massachusetts, is pleased to announce that they were honored with an award for “Excellence In Energy Efficiency” at the 2009 Builders’ Association of Greater Boston annual PRISM (Prestigious Results in Sales and Marketing) ceremony.

Northland Residential was chosen for this award – sponsored by Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STAR®  from a pool of the finest builders, developers, project owners, architects, land planners, marketers, advertising executives, interior designers, merchandisers, remodelers, and other professionals in the building industry. Northland presented a demonstrated improvement in energy efficiency from homes previously built, (such as the specification of technological enhancements which may or may not include renewable energy systems), effectively leveraged the ENERGY STAR brand within marketing efforts, and achieved excellent final scores on the Energy Star Home Energy Rating System (HERS).

Widely recognized for its dedication to the environment, Northland Residential Corporation  is regarded as one of New England’s premier developers of extraordinary real estate. The firm’s credo is described in their mission statement: “Built Better. Built Northland Residential Green.” and serves to further distinguish their presence in the residential marketplace. “It’s about holding ourselves to a higher standard,” states President and Chief Operating Officer John Dawley. “To this end, each of our Green homes is built to the
highest principles of energy- and resource-efficiency. This effort reduces the carbon footprint of our communities and lightens our global impact while providing our homeowners with healthier indoor environments and lower energy bills.”

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Frank M. Stewart, reaffirms Northland Residential’s commitment to using these green principles in all future projects. “This Built Northland Residential Green initiative demonstrates our company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility. We are proud to be among the first builders in New England to embrace best-practice sustainable building systems that conserve energy and water, improve indoor air quality and preserve building materials and land.”

Throughout its 38-year history, Northland Residential has taken great care to integrate its properties into existing landscapes and optimize available resources. In doing so, the company has been able to maintain its environmental responsibility without compromising quality and sophistication. Its diverse portfolio includes ocean- and lake-front  developments, golf-course communities, renovated historic properties, private single-family and vacation homes, and luxury condominium communities.
